Il y a un an jour pour jour, (4 avril) et accompagné de sa famille, Sébastien rencontre le Saint Père au Vatican afin de lui présenter la « Clé des Océans ». Ce précieux symbole confectionné de bric et de broc sur le pont de faceOcean au large du Cap Horn pendant le Vendee Globe.
« Présenter la Clé des Océans à Sa Sainteté le Pape François a été un immense privilège et une grande émotion. Et pour le clin d’oeil, le vainqueur Armel Le Cleac’h est invité à rencontrer le Président à L’Elysée et le dernier est invité par le Vatican à rencontrer Le Pape François. Quelque part, c’est aussi çà, toute la magie du Vendée Globe. »
La « Clé des Océans » est depuis déposée aux pieds de la Vierge Noire de Rocamadour, la protectrice de tous les marins du monde.

The “Key of the Oceans” is now resting at the feet of the Black Virgin of Rocamadour, the protector of all the seafarers in the World.
